Em uma cidade brasileira, uma delegacia da Polícia Civil, especializada em DESAPARECIDOS, a DDPA, cuida desses casos com dedicação e extrema competência. A equipe da DDPA tem larga experiência, não apenas na busca de pistas e provas, mas também no tratamento com os familiares das vítimas. A série "procedural" apresenta 3 arcos dramáticos. O primeiro arco se refere ao desenvolvimento dos personagens "fixos" de toda a série: os investigadores e profissionais da DDPA. O cotidiano e conflitos básicos desses personagens serão apresentados ao público durante toda a temporada. O segundo arco terá um desenvolvimento, a princípio secundário, se iniciando logo no primeiro episódio através de um caso, aparentemente incongruente e de pouca relevância, mas que tomará a série ao final. O terceiro arco dramático se desenvolverá a cada episódio e contará uma história do início ao fim desvendando os mistérios que rondam o desaparecimento de uma pessoa e o impacto que isso gera em seu entorno, em especial como reagem as famílias dos desaparecidos nesses momentos. A série é baseada em casos reais e tem seus procedimentos ancorados na rotina da recém-criada DDPA. A série conta a história desta equipe comandada pela delegada Regina Sampaio e seus agentes, Milton Farias, Rodrigo Vieira, Joana Barcelos, e o novo integrante, Maurício Costa. Regina é uma das delegadas mais respeitadas da polícia civil. Com um grande senso de justiça, investiga os casos que aparecem em sua delegacia. Ela descobriu que era filha adotiva aos 18 anos e saiu à procura dos seus pais biológicos, mas nunca descobriu o paradeiro deles. Essa dor sempre esteve presente em sua vida. No decorrer da série, teremos a presença marcante de sua filha, Mariana, fruto do relacionamento conturbado com um ex-policial, a princípio honesto, mas que acabou por se corromper. Mariana morava com o pai, e se envolveu com drogas. Regina resolve aproximar- se mais da filha e acompanhar de perto seu tratamento, trazendo-a para morar com ela.

       A série é dividida em episódios contínuos, nos quais a equipe, além de lidar com seus problemas e conflitos pessoais, deve dar continuidade a seu trabalho e desvendar rapidamente misteriosos desaparecimentos, pois dessa rapidez dependem as vidas dos desaparecidos. A partir, às vezes, somente de uma fotografia, mas lançando mão da utilização das mais avançadas técnicas para se traçar os perfis psicológicos das vítimas, encontrar evidências e desvendar pistas relacionadas ao momento do desaparecimento, o DDPA tem como tarefa encontrar essas pessoas com vida e prender os eventuais culpados.

The daily lives and basic conflicts of these characters will be presented to the audience throughout the season. The second arc will have a development, initially secondary, beginning in the first episode through a case that is seemingly incongruous and of little relevance, but which will take over the series by the end. The third dramatic arc will develop in each episode and will tell a story from beginning to end, unraveling the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of a person and the impact this generates on their surroundings, especially how the families of the missing react in these moments. The series is based on real cases and its procedures are anchored in the routine of the newly created DDPA (Specialized Police Station for the Protection of Children and Adolescents). The series tells the story of this team, led by Detective Regina Sampaio and her agents, Milton Farias, Rodrigo Vieira, Joana Barcelos, and the new member, Maurício Costa. Regina is one of the most respected detectives in the civil police. With a strong sense of justice, she investigates the cases that appear in her police station. She discovered she was adopted at 18 and went in search of her biological parents, but never found them. This pain has always been present in her life. Throughout the series, we will see the significant presence of her daughter, Mariana, the result of a troubled relationship with a former police officer, initially honest, but who ended up becoming corrupt. Mariana lived with her father and became involved with drugs. Regina decides to get closer to her daughter and closely monitor her treatment, bringing her to live with her.
